18th June

This week?
Well we started off getting ready for the Leamington day of magic which was very enjoyable. Nice drive up and a surprise visit by Thelma, she looks after her grandson Alby now so does not make many of the balloon events that we run. Was nice having a chat and catching up a bit. Had a few balloon sales so that was an added bonus which is always nice. Posted a few pictures from the day, not too many as we did not have too much time. Leamington Day.

I have had more problems with my phone, my original one went kaput and had 3 months contract left so I just bought a new one from Argos of Ebay, well it worked fine away from the house but when at home the sim wi-fi seemed to fight with the house wi-fi and nothing worked. So that went back and I purchased a phone from my sim provider Virgin, it was only £5 a month, I like a bargain. It was meant to be black and turned up a white phone so they told me to send it back which I did. The new black phone arrived with no sim card, I had sent it back with the other phone. So they had to send me a new sim which arrived the next day but Virgin activated the sim I sent back so at the moment we have been without a phone for two days and they have to now send me sim number three so it looks like four days with no phone. These things are sent to try us.

All ready for the drive down to Bodmin today for the first Cornwall Care & Share day. It looks like being a very small turn out and I’m sure others might have postponed/cancelled the day but I’d rather the day went ahead. We have eight booked in so fingers crossed everyone turns up, I’m sure we will still have a few laughs and hopefully a few new balloon designs will be learnt. If you would like to book last minute, Bodmin Balloon Day.

All things are getting sorted for Linda T from Germany and Doctor Bob from Wales for
the nest star lecture days which are in Sutton on the 3rd and 4th July for
“The David Grist Memorial Lecture” Booking Details.

I also went down to see Lord G in Crawley to pick up the master copy from the Alberto Nava workshop which we had back in November; it’s nearly 4 hours long. I had to check through to make sure all works OK and to check what was taught so we can produce the artwork and chapter headings.

It’s BalloonTube Sunday this week with another one balloon design that I forgot to post right at the beginning of this adventure. Hope you enjoy it and can use the design, it was based on an idea shown to me way back from Ralph Dewey. I changed the mouth design section a little but should credit Ralph for the inspiration. BalloonTube.

Off to find the very random balloon picture from this week,
I’m just deciding what design to have as the model of the month for
July over on Balloon Chat. The step by step instructions will get posted
nearer to July if anyone would like to make the Teddy design. Teddy.
